Equality Objectives 2026–2030
At Cecil Gowing Infant and Nursery School, we are committed to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion for all members of our school community. We aim to eliminate discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not.
Our Equality Objectives for 2026–2030 are:
Objective 1: Raise Outcomes for Disadvantaged Pupils
To narrow any attainment and progress gaps between disadvantaged pupils and their peers by ensuring high-quality teaching, targeted interventions and effective use of additional funding.
Objective 2: Promote Inclusion and Belonging
To ensure that all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), feel valued, included and able to participate fully in all aspects of school life.
Objective 3: Develop Understanding and Respect for Diversity
To provide a curriculum that reflects and celebrates the diversity of modern Britain, enabling children to develop respect, empathy and understanding for people from different backgrounds, cultures, faiths and family structures.
Objective 4: Improve Attendance for Vulnerable Groups
To reduce any attendance gaps between vulnerable groups, including disadvantaged pupils and pupils with SEND, and their peers through effective support and partnership with families.
Objective 5: Promote Positive Mental Health and Wellbeing
To support the emotional wellbeing of pupils, staff and families by fostering a nurturing, inclusive environment where everyone feels safe, respected and able to thrive.
These objectives will be reviewed regularly by school leaders and governors as part of our commitment to equality and inclusion.
