Cecil Gowing Infant and Nursery School is a community school in Sprowston, welcoming children from the age of two to seven. Since opening in 1967, we have been part of the local community, sharing our site with Falcon Junior School and Sprowston Community Academy.

Our Acorn Class nursery provides a welcoming start for children aged two to four. Children then learn in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 across six infant classrooms. We have places for up to 180 children in Reception to Year 2, with a separate nursery setting. Throughout the school, our values of kindness, resilience and creativity help every child grow in confidence, develop a love of learning and discover what they can achieve.

Families can check whether their address falls within our catchment area using Norfolk County Council’s school catchment map. Living in the catchment area does not guarantee a place; applications for Reception are managed by Norfolk County Council under its published admissions arrangements. Please contact the school directly to enquire about a nursery place.

At the end of Year 2, many of our children move on to Falcon Junior School. Families must make a separate application for a Year 3 place through Norfolk County Council, as transfer is not automatic.
