Online safety at Cecil Gowing

Children begin exploring the digital world from an early age, so learning how to use technology safely is an important part of life at Cecil Gowing. From Nursery to Year 2, we teach online safety in ways children can understand, through stories, conversations, computing lessons and everyday use of technology.

Children learn to be kind to others online, keep personal information private and ask a trusted adult for help if something they see or hear worries them. As they grow, they begin to understand that not everything online is true and that they should ask permission before taking or sharing a photograph.

We use age-appropriate resources, adult supervision and safeguards on school devices. We also work with families, because the conversations children have at home are just as important. If you have a concern about something your child has experienced online, please speak to us. We are here to help.
